The 100!
100 days, more than 3 months, almost halfway through this journey. How crazy is that? We had the goal of visiting 8 countries and we already set foot in 6 of them, but there is still so much to see.
I remember people saying “7 months? You’ll have time to see everything”…well, not even close. It is a long time indeed, but have you seen the size of this continent? If internet (or learning geography in school) was not a thing, I would’ve thought this is the whole world because it seems to never end.
So, it’s been 100 days of jumping from place to place and just thinking “I wish we had a bit more time to also do X and Z”, but we can’t have it all so we compromise and we choose what is more special to us. Still, more often than not, we end up extending our stays. That’s the freedom of being on a longer journey instead of a simple and very limited trip. I’ll miss being able to travel like this when I go back the regular daily life. But that’s life, right? And knowing that this experience is a once-in-a-lifetime one just makes it more special.
Looks like we left Portugal a lifetime ago, but at the same time “how are we 100 days in already?”, it went by so fast!
We’ve been to the rainforest, the Caribbean, snow-capped mountains, the bluest lakes I’ve ever seen, Inca ruins, cities…you name it. All in just 100 days.
Also I think I developed a strong love for Llamas and, especially, alpacas. I’m wondering if my mom would be mad if I came home with a camelid.
XOXO,
Barbara
